Schedule of Events
Sprog Orientation will be held in 4 virtual sessions. You will select from Sprog I (June 21 & 22), Sprog II (June 23 & 24), Sprog III (June 25 & 26), or Sprog IV (July 26 & 27) . The schedule will remain the same for all Sprog sessions.
1:00 – 2:15 PM - Yes, You Need to Attend This Session! Financial Aid/Business Office Session (Students and Parents/Family)
This session will cover billing, waivers, financial aid, scholarships, and more.
2:30 – 3:30 PM - Curriculum Review and Pre-Planning (Students)
This session will include a review of the curriculum, degree plans, and degree requirements. Also, you will get information to help you prepare for course registration.
3:30 – 4:00 PM - Small Group Meetings with Orientation Leaders (Students)
Meet with your Orientation Leader to get to know them and your peers! Also, you will review the topics covered during your sessions and address any questions about the next day.
6:00 - 7:00 PM - Trivia Night! (Students)
Presented by Student Activities and SIRA: Join us for this “get to know SU” event! Find out what you know and don’t know about SU. There will be door prizes for showing up and for the winners!
12:00 – 1:00 PM - Student Panel (Students)
Hear from current students about their SU Experience. They will answer your questions and give you advice to help you be successful during your first year at SU.
1:00 – 3:00 PM - Breakout Sessions (Student and Parents/Family)
You will have the opportunity to meet with staff to learn more about our Fine Arts program, Captain’s Academy (program for first-generation students), Services for Students with Disabilities, and transfer student services.
3:00 - 4:15 PM - Transition Tips (Parents/Family)
Get the details you need to prepare for your Pirate’s move to SU. Representatives from Academic Success, Housing, Mosaic, SUPD, and Counseling and Health will be presenting the most critical information you need to know now and answering your questions live.
3:00 – 4:00 PM - Department Group Advising (Students)
You will meet with an academic advisor to discuss your course schedule for the fall semester.
4:00 – 6:00 PM - Registration Support (Students)
Students will register for their fall semester courses with assistance from Orientation Leaders and Southwestern Staff.
6:00 - 7:00 PM - Social Event (Students)
You will engage with their Orientation Leaders, who will continue to
