The global perspective Stephanie Braccini Slade ’02 has achieved through her work with primates allows her to see—and share with others—that humans aren’t the only part of humanity; that human and animal lives are connected, influencing and relying on one another.
As a part of my graduate training, I have provided assessments, consultation, and therapy to children and families across a variety of settings, including schools, clinics, and hospitals.
I have been able to provide individual psychotherapy services to clients at both an outpatient community clinic as well as at the university’s student counseling center.
If you’re interested in doing both medicine management and therapy, consider pursuing a Master’s in Psychiatric Nursing through an “alternate entry” program like I did. SU’s psych major provides an excellent foundation, and in only 3 years, you’ll be ready to practice psychiatry in a mental health facility or in private practice.
