Living while learning together is an important aspect of the Southwestern Experience. Guided by Mosaic’s key areas of development, SU’s Residential Experience empowers students to be active and engaged community members, developing both lifelong friendships and skills such as responsible decision-making, problem-solving, and teamwork. Our team of professional staff and resident assistants intentionally support students in developing a positive, inclusive environment of respect while engaging in meaningful and sometimes challenging conversations.

We collaborate with offices across campus to host in-hall educational programming and to provide resources that facilitate—and encourage connections between—intellectual and personal growth. Through these activities, we provide stimulating learning experiences that are personalized to residents’ needs and interests, from academic achievement in the first year to career readiness in the last.
