Dr. Daniel Stultz ’72
Dan Stultz served as the chief executive officer of the Texas Hospital Association for eight years prior to his retirement in 2014. Previously, he was the CEO of Shannon Health System, an integrated hospital, clinic, and health plan system headquartered in San Angelo, where he practiced internal medicine for 28 years. He currently serves part-time as an executive-in-residence and associate professor of humanities at Texas A&M School of Medicine. Dr. Stultz served as the chairman of the Texas Hospital Association from 2003 to 2014. He is board certified by the American College of Physicians and the American College of Health Care Executives.
Dan graduated from Southwestern in 1972 with a degree in biology. He earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1975 and then worked as an internal-medicine resident at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He has been honored by both of his alma maters, having received and the Distinguished Professions Award from Southwestern in 2011 and the Distinguished Alumni Award from the UT Medical School in 1992.
