Mary Medley An experienced association executive, Mary Medley is the president and chief executive officer of the Colorado Society of CPAs, leading a staff of 14 professionals in delivering member and community services.  She also coordinates the organization’s legislative activities as a registered lobbyist. A frequent speaker before CPAs, students, and national audiences on topics including professional issues, business writing, effective presentation skills, and business etiquette, in October 1996 she was named to Accounting Today magazine’s list of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting.

Ms. Medley serves on the accounting department advisory boards for the University of Denver and the University of Northern Colorado and was the 2011-2014 president of the Colorado JumpStart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy.  Active with the American Institute of CPAs, she served a four-year stint on the AICPA’s Strategic Planning Committee, a term on the AICPA’s Committee Operations Committee, and as a trustee for the AICPA Foundation, which provides funding for the accounting doctoral scholars program, minority initiatives, the national financial literacy program, and Ph.D. support.  Recently, she was involved with the national Pathways Commission effort to recommend fundamental change in education of accountants.

Mary received her bachelor’s degree in English from Southwestern in 1974 and was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha.
