Mike McKeeMike McKee is the bishop of the North Texas Conference.  Before being elected to the episcopacy, he served as senior pastor of First United Methodist Church in Hurst, Texas.

In 2012, Bishop McKee was named to the Council of Bishops executive committee and chairs the Justice and Reconciliation Committee.  He serves on the boards of trustees of Southern Methodist University, the Texas Methodist Foundation, and the Methodist Health System, Dallas.  He chairs of the executive board of Perkins School of Theology and co-chairs its Campaign Steering Committee.  In 2007 Bishop McKee received the Founder’s Award from Trinity Area Habitat for Humanity, and in 2010 he was the recipient of the Bishop’s Award for Preaching Excellence in the Central Texas Annual Conference.

Mike received his bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1973 and his master’s of theology degree from Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, in 1978.  In 2005, he received an honorary doctoral degree from Texas Wesleyan University.
