Mike McKeeMike McKee is the bishop of the North Texas Conference. Before being elected to the episcopacy in 2012, he served several churches, including most recently 15 years as the senior pastor of First United Methodist Church in Hurst, Texas.

Bishop McKee is president of the board of the General Council on Finance and Administration of The United Methodist Church. He serves on the boards of trustees of Southern Methodist University, Texas Methodist Foundation, and Methodist Health System, Dallas, and is chair of the executive board of Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University where he was honored with the Perkins’ Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2017. He is the immediate past-president of the South Central Jurisdiction College of Bishops, has been a delegate to the Jurisdictional and General Conferences, and has held numerous offices including chair of the Board of Ordained Ministry and the Mid-Cities District Committee of Ordained Ministry.

Bishop McKee received his bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1973 and his master’s of theology degree from Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University, in 1978. In 2005, he received an honorary doctoral degree from Texas Wesleyan University.
