Bob KarrBob Karr, who has had a long career focused on pharmaceutical development, is currently the president and CEO of Vascular, Inc., a biotechnology company. He was the president of Idera Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2005 to 2007 and continues to serve on Idera’s board. Previously, he was senior vice president of strategic management at Pfizer Global Research and Development, was vice president of research and development at Warner-Lambert and G. D. Searle, and served as a faculty member at University of Iowa College of Medicine and Washington University School of Medicine.

Bob is a 1971 graduate of Southwestern, where he majored in biology. He received his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1975. While at Southwestern, he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha and Alpha Chi. He was elected chair of the Southwestern board in 2012.
