Jean JanssenPrior to her retirement, Jean Janssen practiced law with Smith & Conner, P.C. in Houston, focusing on civil litigation, family law, and probate. She also was an adjunct professor of business law at the University of St. Thomas.

Ms. Janssen serves as the chair-elect of the board of directors, president-elect of the council, and chair of the development committee for the San Jacinto Council of the Girl Scouts of America. She also has been involved with the Junior League of Houston and Strake Jesuit College Preparatory School.

Jean graduated cum laude from Southwestern in 1984 with a bachelor of business administration degree in economics and subsequently obtained her law degree from The University of Texas School of Law in 1987. At Southwestern she was a member of Delta Delta Delta and currently serves as the president of Tri Delta’s Houston alumni chapter. She is President of the Association of Southwestern University Alumni. She also has held other important volunteer roles for the University, including president of Houston’s Southwestern alumni association, Decades Chair, class agent, and coordinator of the Delta Delta Delta Fraternity Centennial.
