What would be your advice to prospective students about the college search?

My advice to prospective students is to be intentional in your search process because you’re picking the place that you will call home for the next four years. You don’t want to just go to a school because your friend is going there and they really like it because there may be a chance that you hate it and want to leave. If you’re intentional with your search there is a higher chance that you will find the school that will sweep you off your feet.

Why should students attend Southwestern?

Southwestern University easily became my second home whenever I first moved in on campus. The friendships and relationships that come from this school are something special. With our smaller size, you’ll be able to foster more personal relationships with your professors. The education you’ll receive from this institution will ultimately prepare you for the rest of your life, along with making friends that you’ll probably have for the rest of your life.

What are your favorite restaurants in Georgetown and why?

My favorite restaurants in Georgetown are El Monumento and 600 Degrees. El Mon is a Mexican restaurant and 600 Degrees is pizza. El Mon has really good Mexican food. It’s always fun for me to try new things there because I know that I could never have a bad meal there. 600 has very unique pizza toppings. My favorite pizza from 600 is their Baker’s Choice. It is what the name is, the baker chooses all of the toppings that go on your pizza, and so far, the baker has never disappointed me.

What is your favorite thing to do in Georgetown and why?

My favorite things to do in Georgetown are to hang out with my friends and get coffee at 309 coffee with them and also enjoy the outdoors and go on a hike around Lake Georgetown or just spend my day at the lake at their different parks.

What are your favorite restaurants in Austin and why?

My favorite restaurant in Austin is probably Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen in the Domain. This place offers a lot of different variety in their food so there’s always something for everyone and it’s also really yummy.

What is your favorite thing to do in Austin and why?

Honestly, I don’t go into Austin much, but I do occasionally go to TopGolf so that would probably be my favorite thing to do. I’m terrible at golf but TopGolf makes me feel like I can put up a good fight with some of the top golfers.

What is your favorite SU fun fact?

Whether it be real or not, my favorite SU fun fact I learned during my freshman welcome week was that basically all the buildings on campus are haunted and if you’re lucky enough, you’ll be able to experience these spirits.

What is your favorite SU tradition?

I think my favorite SU tradition is not stepping on the seal outside of the chapel until you graduate. It’s always so fun watching people avoid it at all costs, even when they’re zooming by on a pirate bike.

What is your favorite place on campus?

My favorite place on campus is probably the pool. I swam at SU all four years and it was always the place where I could just leave my problems at the door for a while and not have to deal with them.

What are your hobbies?

Cooking/baking and running/lifting weights

Where were you born, and, if different, what do you consider your hometown?

I was born and raised in the Houston area, more specifically West Houston.

What would your pirate name be?

Captain Salty

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

Probably that I’ve been to Disney 10 times. I am a proud Disney adult.

If you could have coffee in the Cove with anyone in the world, living or dead, who would it be and why?

I would probably have coffee with Jesus. I just want to talk to him about his life and just be in his comforting presence and peace and be surrounded by his love.

When not at work, you can find me…

309 Coffee, at the gym, or hanging out with my husband

If you could choose one superpower, what would it be?

The ability to read minds

What advice would you give your college self?

To not be afraid to get involved in campus life. I was too afraid to spread myself too thin with extra curricular activities because I thought that would compromise my grades, but it’s really just about having good time management.

What is your anthem?

Lost by Frank Ocean

What is your go-to emoji?

Probably the emoji with the puppy dog eyes, it’s so cute and I use puppy dog eyes a lot in real life too.

What app do you use the most?

I probably use Instagram the most, my sister and I send videos back and forth all day long and I use it to keep up with friends from college.

What is your favorite get-to-know-you question, and what would your answer be?

If you were a fruit, what would you be? I would be a lime because it’s sour but also adds a splash of flavor which is what I like to think I bring to my friend group, a little flavor.
