What would be your advice to prospective students about the college search?

Be your own person and don’t be afraid to ask any questions about what you may be interested in! Your own interests are super important to making your mark in higher education, help your institution help you by expressing your own individuality.

Why should students attend Southwestern?

Southwestern is an amazing place for students to grow not only academically but also socially as they prepare themselves for the world ahead of them, while also cultivating friendships that will last a lifetime. The community is not only accepting but it’s also engaging in order to offer everyone attending Southwestern their best foot forward. Be-ing Southwestern is not something that just students do, but alumni, faculty, and staff too! This offers many opportunities to connect with Southwestern alumni and other members of the community that are here to help you as a pirate, to grow and flourish into the amazing person you’re meant to be!

What are your favorite restaurants in Georgetown and why?

San Pedro Limón is my favorite place in town to grab breakfast tacos either on the weekends or weekdays before class. Everyone there is super nice and the food is amazing no matter what you get!

What is your favorite thing to do in Georgetown and why?

Walking around Georgetown and exploring the many trails around the city is one of my favorite things to do! Georgetown is such a pretty place in both nature and architecture with much to be enjoyed.

What are your favorite restaurants in Austin and why?

I love Culinary Dropout in the Domain! The food is amazing and always a great place to meet with friends or family!

What is your favorite thing to do in Austin and why?

My favorite thing to do in Austin is to experience the local music scene that is vibrant within the city. Lots of the local artists will perform at venues that are super convenient for not only stopping in to grab a bite to eat but also to hang out and spend time with friends!

What is your favorite SU fun fact?

My favorite fun fact about SU is that there’s a reverb chamber by the small fountain near the academic mall, and if you stand in the center facing the larger fountain you can hear your voice echo back.

What is your favorite SU tradition?

Church lunch would probably be my favorite tradition where a local church cooks meals on Monday’s for Southwestern students, faculty, and staff! Everyone there is very accepting and super nice, plus you can never go wrong with a free home-cooked meal!

What is your favorite place on campus?

My favorite place on campus is the story tree that sits out by the soccer fields. Being someone who enjoys being out in nature, the story tree has been a place that my friends and I used to congregate and spend time outside together away from the academic center.

What are your hobbies?

Some of my hobbies include walking around Georgetown and seeing the many different natural environments around the city, or just sitting around to take a breath of fresh air at San Gabriel Park! However, when I’m not feeling too outdoorsy (thank you Texas heat), I love playing video games either by myself or with the company of my friends.

Where were you born, and, if different, what do you consider your hometown?

was born in the Woodlands and spent the first years of my life off of Lake Conroe, but the largest chunk of my childhood was spent south of Georgetown in New Braunfels!

What would your pirate name be?

Buzzfeed quizzes told me Captain Greybeard, which would work if I had a beard and it was gray.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

One thing not many people know about me is that I’m forklift certified.

If you could have coffee in the Cove with anyone in the world, living or dead, who would it be and why?

I would’ve loved to sit and have coffee with Dietrich Bonhoeffer. His philosophy and consideration of theology in the world around us has influenced many people in my family.

When not at work, you can find me…

Either outside enjoying nature or inside trying to get my friends together for some friendly competition.

If you could choose one superpower, what would it be?

In lieu with an iconic Marvel character Professor X, I would have to choose the superpower of telepathy.

What advice would you give your college self?

Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zones! Even though it may seem cliché, the most growth from myself as both a student and a person came from knocking down my own barriers of comfort and putting myself out there for something new!

What is your anthem?

As an avid music buf , I like to think that numerous songs are anthems of mine but if I had to pick one I would say that it would be Skate by Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak.

What is your go-to emoji?

What app do you use the most?

For better or worse I find myself scrolling through my twitter feed more than any other app recently.

What is your favorite get-to-know-you question, and what would your answer be?

“If you were any kind of fruit, what fruit would you be?” and if I was asked this my answer would currently be a Tomato.
