What would be your advice to prospective students about the college search?

Ask a lot of questions. This is going to be your home for the next 4 years, so gather all the information you can. The more information you have about a school, the better you will be able to make an informed decision. It is all about finding the right place for you, not the other way around. Finding the right college for you can feel overwhelming but if you listen to your heart and remain true to yourself, it can be an exciting journey. Sometimes all it takes is one conversation with the right person or the feeling you get when you first visit campus that can make a world of difference so always remain open to every possibility. 

Why should students attend Southwestern?

Southwestern is a place you can truly call home. It is all about community and discovering your true self. Your professors and peers truly care about you and want to see you succeed both academically and personally. Southwestern provides a supportive environment that encourages free thinking and individuality. There is a place for everyone here!

What are your favorite restaurants in Georgetown and why?

Sweet Lemon Kitchen and 600 Degrees Pizza are two of my go-tos. I also have a huge sweet tooth and love picking up something sweet at Galaxy Bakery. They have such a wide selection of cupcakes, pies, cookies, and other tasty treats. 

What is your favorite thing to do in Georgetown and why?

I really enjoy going hiking at Blue Hole on one of their trails with my husband and my dogs. It is a great way to move my body and relax my mind, as well as spend some quality time with my favorite person and pups.  

What are your favorite restaurants in Austin and why?

Any place that has some good Texas BBQ. Eating Texas BBQ is a magical and often life changing experience.

What is your favorite thing to do in Austin and why?

My favorite thing to do in Austin is to go to concerts with friends and enjoy live music from some of my favorite artists. 

What is your favorite SU fun fact?

That the eyes of Alma Thomas in the portrait of her in the Fine Arts Building can be seen following you wherever you move. 

What is your favorite SU tradition? 

Spooktakular! I love seeing the residence halls decorated and ready for Halloween. It is so much fun to see everyone dressed up and passing out candy to some of our most beloved faculty/staff members and their families. 

What is your favorite place on campus?

The lawn. On beautiful, sunny days, my favorite thing to do is lay my picnic blanket out and soak in the sun. 

What are your hobbies?

Baking, reading, arts & crafts, astrology, traveling, community activism, dancing, listening to music, watching TV/movies, and sleeping a lot!

Where were you born, and, if different, what do you consider your hometown?

I was born in San Antonio, Texas. Go Spurs Go!

What would your pirate name be?

Captain Smackdown. The WWE fans will understand this one. 

What is something people would be surprised to know about you?

Most people are surprised to know that I am a huge fan of WWE. Anytime they are in town, you can catch me at one of the shows. 

If you could have coffee in the Cove with anyone in the world, living or dead, who would it be and why?

I would have coffee with my mom and dad. They are my whole heart and I always enjoy any time spent with them. Or maybe my niece. That girl always brightens my day. 

When not at work, you can find me…

In bed taking a nap or watching Law & Order Special Victims Unit while cuddling my two pups Duke and Meeshka. 

If you could choose one superpower, what would it be?

To time travel. 

What advice would you give your college self?

To explore more. To try new things and to not be afraid about what people might think.

Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson. It is just such a nostalgic song for me.

What app do you use the most?

TikTok. I can scroll for hours. 

What is your favorite get-to-know-you question, and what would your answer be?

If you were an animal what would you be? I like asking this question because I feel like it can tell you a lot about a person’s personality. If I was an animal, I would be a Koala because I like to sleep a lot and I can be a little feisty.
