Emma Luisa Lopez ’21 joined the CCPD team as the ICORPS Program Coordinator in August of 2021. She graduated from Southwestern with a BA in Latin American and Border Studies and Political Science, primarily focusing in political theory and Latin American art and philosophy. While a student, she worked for the Political Science department, the CCPD, the Debby Ellis Writing Center, and the Office of Diversity Education. She was also an active member in several student organizations, including the Coalition for Diversity and Social Justice, Reproductive Justice Alliance, EBONY, and Latinx Unidos. Emma looks forward to continuing her work and education someday in a graduate program in Latin American studies. Originally from Austin, Emma is a huge art and music fan, and enjoys writing and traveling. One more fun fact: she taught English in Costa Rica the summer after her first year at SU!
