Randal Scamardo graduated in International Studies from Texas A&M University in 1998, earned a master’s degree from the Universitat de Barcelona in Gestión Cultural. He earned a second master’s in Hispanic Studies and obtained his doctorate with cum laude honors in Investigaciones Filológicas (Philology) from the Universidad de Cádiz in 2016. The following year his book on the life and Spanish corpus of a veteran of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, La España de Alvah Bessie. De la Guerra Civil a la Transición, was published. He currently serves as the director of the oldest language academy in Cádiz, Spain, Casa de las Lenguas while teaching Spanish and English as a Second Language.
