Hometown
Grew up in Alice, TX, but I’ve called Georgetown my home for nearly 30 years.

Favorite Southwestern Experience
I took a class that covered the urban sociology and history of Chicago. It focused on neighborhoods, ethnic relations, social issues, and architecture from 1893–1933. Best part was actually going to Chicago as a class over Spring Break.

Favorite Dining Spot in Georgetown
Hands down, Dos Salsas Tex-Mex Restaurant! They have the absolute best chicken tortilla soup you’ll ever have…sorry, mom!

Advice for Transfer Students
Take time to reflect closely on your previous college experiences, likes and dislikes, and decide how that knowledge will inform the next choice you make.

Choice Quote
Mark Twain once said, “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog.” I’ve always pulled for the underdog and, to me, there’s no substitute for grit, passion and strength of character.

Interests
Building, fixing, and tinkering with just about anything; and keeping up with the Cryptids—Big Foot, Nessie, Chupacabra, etc.—instead of the Kardashians!

Interesting Office Item
I have a series of booklets published by the Alamo and San Jacinto literary societies of Southwestern University in 1884. Curious enough, we’re still debating some of the very same issues 130 years later.
