April joined the Southwestern staff in 2013 and serves as the Senior Director of Planned Giving. She works with individuals by sharing gift and estate planning options and opportunities so that they can make the most meaningful gift to Southwestern while meeting their personal and philanthropic goals. April has more than 21 years of experience in higher education fundraising. Most recently, she served as Director of Gift Planning at the University of Texas at Austin during their historic $3 billion campaign. And from 1995-2007 she worked as a member of the Southwestern University development team as a major gift officer and planned giving officer. April served as a board member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the CASE District IV 2015 conference chair. She is currently the President of the Planned Giving Council of Central Texas and is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Central Texas. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Southwestern University and a master’s in social work from the University of Houston.
