Several students’ paintings from Prof. Star Varner’s classes were selected for the 34th Annual Central Texas Art Competition and Exhibition at Temple College, juried by Mr. Mark Anderson, Chair of Baylor University’s Art Department. The Central Texas Art Competition is sponsored by Altrusa International of Temple and the Temple South Rotary Club. The exhibition is coordinated by the Temple College Art Department.

Ms. Amber Wallour’s painting “Pick Something” was awarded Juror’s Award, and Paige Guerra’s “Sharp and Dull” assemblage received Honorable Mention. Wallour ‘14 and Guerra ‘15 attended the opening reception on November 16, where they were awarded cash prizes. Also included in the college division of the exhibition were still life paintings by Ellen Hinds ‘16, Katy Nave ‘15, and Roxana Saenz ‘16. The exhibition is opened from November 16 through December 2 at the Temple College Visual Arts Complex, 2101 South Fifth Street in Temple, Texas.
