Several students’ paintings from Prof. Star Varner’s classes were selected for the Central Texas Art Competition at Temple College juried by Mr. Mark Anderson, Chair of Baylor University’s Art Department from the 563 entries.  Ms. Amber Wallour’s painting was awarded Best of Show, and Paige Guerra’s “Sharp and Dull” assemblage received Honorable Mention.  Also included in the college division of the exhibition were still life paintings by Ellen Hinds, Katy Nave, and Roxana Saenz.  Wallour and Guerra attended the opening reception on November 16, where they received cash prizes. The exhibition continues through December 2 at the Temple College Visual Arts Complex, 2101 South Fifth Street in Temple, Texas.
