On Friday, May 10, 2013 Prof. Thomas Howe’s Architecture Studio “Design to Modern Structures” had an open critique in the Sarofim Fine Arts Center with three professional architects as guest lecturers (pictured center, left to right): Scott Adams SU ’97 (Overland Partners, San Antonio), Tom Nichols (1113 Architects, Georgetown), Gail Schorre (Morningside Architects Houston).

Students presented their designs for the World Trade Center New York, a steel frame and curtain wall skyscraper project, with office, commercial and residential spaces. Architect Julien Meyrat (SU ’97, RTKL Architects, Dallas) visited the class twice during the semester and did presentations on skyscraper and curtain wall design. Meyrat has worked on skyscrapers in locations such as Mexico City, Chengdu and Dubai (Burj Khalifa). Left and right are students Jordan Gasky (presenting) and Chandler Johnson.
