In Professor Desiderio Roybal’s Design Fundamentals class, students had to design an enclosed space or “box” which houses an emotion. The contents inside and outside the box were to be as informative as the box itself. Students utilized the elements and principles of design to help guide the viewer to understand the student’s chosen emotion. The students learned to explore ideas using images, artifacts, and artwork to understand conclusions. These conclusions impacted their understanding of why certain conclusions are drawn.
