Megan Frisque Named New Associate Vice President for Alumni and Parents
Megan Radison Frisque has been named the new associate vice president in charge of alumni and parent relations at Southwestern.
Frisque previously worked at Southwestern from 2005-2008 as assistant and then associate director of Southwestern’s alumni and parent relations program.
Since 2008, she has been working in the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement at the University of Tampa, first as assistant director of civic engagement and most recently as director of community engagement. In 2011, she received the Mid-Manager of the Year Award from the Florida Chapter of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
“Megan’s reputation for energy and efficiency make her ideal to step into the shoes of her former supervisor, Georgianne Hewett,” said Blake Stanford, a 1981 Southwestern graduate who is the current president of The Association of Southwestern University Alumni.
Hewett, a 1990 Southwestern graduate who has served as associate vice president for alumni and parent relations since 2000, is leaving Southwestern to pursue graduate studies at Northwestern University.
Frisque will return to work at Southwestern Aug. 22.
“We are so pleased to have Megan return to Southwestern to join and lead our outstanding staff in alumni and parent relations,” said Rick McKelvey, vice president for university relations. “The program has set attendance records at Homecoming for the last seven years and we are eager to continue the momentum.”
Frisque has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree in college student personnel from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She and her husband, Andrew, have a son and are expecting another child in late September.
“Southwestern has always been dear to my heart,” Frisque said. “I cherish the stories that I heard over the years from alumni, parents and students. Those memories are what inspired me to return to this amazing community. I look forward to reconnecting and developing new opportunities to engage alumni through The Association of Southwestern University Alumni.”
