Kevin Livesay successfully completed his undergraduate education at Southwestern University in 2006. After obtaining a B.A. in Political Science with Honors and a Minor in Philosophy, he spent the summer running from understandably annoyed chimps at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and seating unjustly annoyed customers at one of the numerous branches of Chuy’s. Although he proved unable to combine these “learning experiences” into the first ever Great Ape managed eatery, he did obtain a position as a Firefighter in the Austin Fire Department later that year. Kevin credits his excellent professors at Southwestern University, particularly Dr. Alisa Gaunder and Dr. Robert Snyder, for developing his ability to focus and complete highly stressful tasks, something that proved rather useful during the six month marathon provided the AFD academy. Kevin also thanks SU for its extremely brave decision to place him on stage with Benazier Bhutto at the Shilling Lecture Series, trusting him to write and ask appropriate questions with no preconceived knowledge as to the contents of her speech. Gutsy move indeed, although Kevin likes to think he handled the responsibility reasonably well.
