Emily Hardt is the Director of the Women’s Institute for Leadership Development, an organization that works to strengthen the number, influence and diversity of women at all levels of leadership in the labor movement. She has worked in social and economic justice movements for over a decade, including as a union organizer. She is currently completing her PhD in Political Science at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. The subject of her research is Transition Towns, a grassroots movement building community resilience in response to climate change and energy constraints.
