Phaedra graduated from Southwestern in 2005, where she paired her Political Science Major with a Theatre Major. Since graduation she has worked in the social justice movement, first spending time as a labor organizer with Service Employees International Union where she gained grassroots lobbying and organizing experience. She continued growing her organizing experience working for environmental groups like PennEnvironment and Environment Florida organizing citizens and legislators to pass laws to protect our environment. In 2008 Phaedra used her organizing skills to work on electoral campaigns. She currently works as a project director for Virginia New Majority. This is a non-profit organization based in Northern Virginia that works toward the progressive transformation of Virginia through mass organizing, leadership development, and strategic communications, where she organizes communities of color, women, working people, LGBTs, youth and progressive people.
