Lauren is currently in her first year of graduate school at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in Global Policy Studies specializing in Security, Law, and Diplomacy. Lauren graduated from Southwestern in 2011 with a double major in International Studies: Political Science and French. Lauren speaks French and Spanish in addition to English and cites the flexibility of course offerings and majors Southwestern offers as being at the core of her undergraduate education. “The amazing professors we are lucky enough to learn from in the Political Science department truly prepare you for any career in Political Science,” she said. “Everything from the breadth of classes you take to the great one-on-one time with professors gives you the academic tools to be qualified for a career and the confidence you need to succeed.” During her time at Southwestern, Lauren interned with a translation agency and at the Texas Capitol. In the summer 2012 she hopes to work in Washington, D.C.. Outside of school, Lauren enjoys traveling as often as possible, taking ballet classes, and spending time with friends.
