Stephen is currently in his second year of law school at Texas Tech University School of Law. As different as Southwestern and law school are, he says he relies regularly on the skills and experience Southwestern provided him. He is a Staff Member of the Law Review, which requires him to write a student comment. He says he employs his political science background when analyzing his comment topic of whether federalism principles should form the basis of courts’ personal jurisdiction analysis. Law review, however, is not the only activity where he finds himself employing the tools that S.U. provided him as he is also tutoring first year Civil Procedure. Outside of academics, he has enjoyed competing in both intraschool and national advocacy competitions, and this summer, he will clerk for the Lanier Firm in their Houston office.
