15 Alpha Phi Alpha members from the Austin metropolitan area visited Southwestern on Tuesday, March 26, for more than 2 hours. The visit came after a year’s worth of work by Vice President for Student Life Dr. Brit Katz in developing the fraternity’s awareness of and interest in Southwestern.

The fraternity brothers visiting Southwestern were current and retired leaders from the fields of business, technology, public service. They met with over 20 males of color from Southwestern who would like to be a part of the fraternity. Alpha Phi Alpha was founded at Cornell University in 1906 and includes almost 800 college and alumni chapters located around the world. Service and advocacy are central to the fraternity.
