On Monday, April 8, a total solar eclipse raced over Central Texas during its trek across North America. The Southwestern University community took full advantage of Georgetown’s prime location within the path of totality. Approximately 1,200 attendees gathered in the Academic Mall for the “Total Eclipse at Southwestern” event, complete with food trucks, merchandise, live music, and telescopes available for optimal viewing. The crowd oohed, aahed, and cheered as cloudy conditions parted just before the Moon eclipsed the Sun, creating a breathtaking experience for all in attendance.
