It’s an exciting time at Southwestern University. On Friday, April 14, the University launched its comprehensive campaign, Thrive: The Campaign for Southwestern University, during the Building a Better Tomorrow weekend. With the goal of raising $150 million to further elevate the University, this multi-year campaign will create a campus experience for Southwestern students, faculty, and staff like no other.
Top universities are known for world-class facilities, renowned faculty, and high-achieving students. Attracting and supporting the very best requires significant investment in supporting student success, academic excellence, teaching and student life accommodations, and annual and ongoing support.
Southwestern prides itself on a unique liberal arts and sciences education with distinctive curricular and co-curricular programs. From recruitment to graduation and beyond, students succeed through investment in critical support networks that allow students to learn from award-winning professors, participate in high-impact, transformative experiences, and excel in a challenging but engaging environment.
Advancing the work of our faculty and academic departments is a cornerstone of the University. Southwestern is dedicated to attracting and retaining the best teacher-scholars in the world, providing them with the resources required to advance their fields of study, and equipping our students with an exceptional education. Southwestern provides its faculty with endowed chairs, professorships, and sabbaticals and remains committed to pursuing excellence through strategic investments in each academic department.
There are numerous projects in the works across campus that lay out the University’s vision for a more sustainable, accessible, and inclusive environment that will foster teaching and learning while preserving the historical integrity of Southwestern. Key investments include the renovation of Mood-Bridwell Hall and the A. Frank Smith Library, constructing two new residence halls, and building a multi-purpose athletics complex.
Each investment in the University strengthens name recognition, impacts visibility, and adds value to every graduate’s degree. To date, Southwestern has raised over $120 million, and with the launch of the comprehensive campaign, the University seeks to raise an additional $30 million by 2025.
Southwestern’s future is guided by support for our students, faculty, and staff. Learn how your generous donations enhance our infrastructure, offer life-changing experiences, and create an environment for our community to thrive: thrive.southwestern.edu.
