Environmental studies major and architecture and math minor, Oliver Johnson ’23, won 2023’s King Creativity Fund with his unique light project. Johnson took inspiration from the popular 1950s artichoke light designed by Poul Henningsen and created a more accessible light fixture.

The King Creativity program was endowed by Southwestern alumnus Joey King ’93 in 2000, and it has supported students’ creative works since then.
