Homecoming 2022: Virtual Event Options
Can’t make the trip to Georgetown for Southwestern’s Homecoming festivities? That’s not a problem! You can celebrate Homecoming at home by participating in these virtual events taking place November 4–6, 2022.
Jameson 5K – Virtual Race
November 4–6, 2022
The Jameson 5K at Southwestern began in 2001 as a way of honoring the memory of Jaysn Flynn Jameson and to increase the endowment of the Jaysn Jameson Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southwestern University. A virtual race option is available in which participants may run the 5K or walk the 1 Mile on any route, in any city at any time that is convenient for them during the 3-day weekend of Friday, November 4 – Sunday, November 6, 2022. The Southwestern tradition returns to Homecoming! This year’s acts will present a twist on a classic story told from the villain’s point of view. The Southwestern University Alumni Association will honor Dr. Benjamin Pierce, Professor of Biology, with the Mr. Homecoming Award at the Homecoming football game on Saturday, November 5. The Homecoming Award is an honor given to a member of the faculty as a token of the affection and respect of former students. One award is presented each academic year. To honor Dr. Pierce, several of his former and current students shared their gratitude and congratulations. Watch the 2022 Mr. Homecoming Award video.
