Connecting an Apple Laptop to a Projector or TV

Attach the white VGA adapter to your MacBook’s mini-Displayport.
Make sure both the MacBook and projector (or TV) are powered on, and then connect the VGA cable to the adapter.
Connect the audio cable to the headphone jack on your laptop.

Go to “System Preferences” which can be found by clicking on the Apple icon in the upper right-hand corner.
Select the “Displays” icon.

For OS 10.7 or earlier, click on Detect Displays.

For OS 10.8, hold down the “option” key and “Gather Windows” will change to “Detect Displays.”

Select the “Arrangement” tab. Then ensure that the “Mirror Displays” option is checked. This will make the projector display what is on the MacBook’s screen.

If you still don’t see you laptop on the screen, leave everything connected and reboot (Shut Down) our computer.
