Basics

 

  What is all this stuff?

   Specific Equipment varies, but here are some items in a typical classroom:

 

 

 

 

 

  Powering On

1. Press firmly on the touchscreen to wake it up.
2. Once you can see the interface, press firmly on one of the COMPUTER, DVD, DOC CAM or VHS buttons along the bottom of the touchscreen. You should hear a beep from the screen to acknowledge your selection. If not, try again and press harder.
  • Note: Different rooms have slightly different buttons on the bottom of the touchscreen.
  • Note: pressing additional buttons after starting the power on process will not do anything until the projector completely turns on (indicated by a progress bar in the center of the Touchscreen

 

  Powering Off

 

Press the blinking OFF button in the upper left hand corner. This shuts off the projector and raises the screen (unless the screen is fixed)

Note: pressing additional buttons after pressing OFF will not do anything until the projector completely shuts down (indicated by a progress bar in the center of the Touchscreen)

 

 

How To

 

  Project the installed computer

 

After either turning on the computer or making sure the computer is on… 

1. Press firmly on the touchscreen to wake it up.
2. Press the Computer button at the bottom of the screen.
This will:
  • turn on the projector and set it to show the computer
  • lower the screen
  • set the volume to a modest level

3a. If the room only has one computer installed:
Press the Desktop button 

OR

3b. If the room has both a Mac and a PC:
Press either the Mac button or the PC button
4. If the projected images does not look correct:
  • press the DVD button
  • wait 10 seconds
  • press the computer button

 

 

 

 

 

  Project a Laptop

 

If you need help connecting your laptop:

Once your laptop is connected…

1. Press firmly on the touchscreen to wake it up.
2. Press the Computer button at the bottom of the screen.
This will:
  • turn on the projector and set it to show the laptop
  • lower the screen
  • set the volume to a modest level
3. Press the Laptop button
4. If nothing is projected, please refer to the Instructions for connecting an Apple Laptop or Instructions for connecting a Windows laptop.  
5. If the laptop is projected, but the projected images does not look correct:
  1. press the DVD button
  2. wait 10 seconds
  3. press the computer button

 

  Show a DVD

 

After inserting your DVD in the player…

1. Press firmly on the touchscreen to wake it up.

2. Press the DVD or VIDEO button at the bottom of the touchscreen (varies by room)


This will:

  • turn on the projector and set it to show the DVD player
  • lower the screen
  • set the volume to a modest level

 

 OR

 

3. Use the touchscreen controls to navigate the DVD menus and control the DVD player
4. If you don’t see anything projected, make sure the DVD player is turned on.

 

  Show a VHS Tape

 

After inserting your tape in the VCR…

1. Press firmly on the touchscreen to wake it up.

2. Press the VHS or VIDEO button at the bottom of the touchscreen (varies by room)


This will:

  • turn on the projector and set it to show the VCR
  • lower the screen
  • set the volume to a modest level

 

 OR

3. Use the touchscreen controls to control the VHS player

                        

OR

4. If you don’t see anything projected, make sure the VHS player is turned on.

 

  Use the Document Camera/Visualizer

 

1. Turn the Document Camera on
2. Make sure controls are set to recommended settings (labelled above controls)
3. Press firmly on the touchscreen to wake it up.
4. Press the Doc Cam button at the bottom of the screen.
This will:
  • turn on the projector
  • lower the screen
  • set the volume to a modest level

 

 

 

 

  Hide the projected image

 

With the projector on and an image projecting, press the BLANK SCREEN button


Note: The projector will automatically come back on after a few minutes. This is because long periods of blanking the image can damage the projector. Please do not blank the projected image for long periods of time.
