Southwestern University, located in Georgetown, has an immediate opening for the position of Fine Arts Coordinator and Faculty Assistant in the Sarofim School of Fine Arts.  Reporting to the Director of Fine Arts Administration, this is an in-person, full-time, twelve-month position with full benefits.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to: serving as the first point of contact and primary support for full-time (25) and adjunct (30) faculty in the School of Fine Arts, consulting with the Director of Fine Arts Administration as needed; serving as receptionist for the Fine Arts Center, answering questions from faculty, staff, students, and visitors; providing support to department chairs, as requested; providing building operational support including working with the campus community on scheduling of the Alma Thomas Fine Arts Center, scheduling of Facilities Management work, and scheduling of Admissions, Athletics, and Student Life events; coordinating and creating physical and social media marketing campaigns using graphic design tools; creating press releases for all events for distribution to Georgetown, Central Texas and student hometowns newspapers; providing administrative budget support for the Director of Fine Arts Administration; and providing Website maintenance for departments and the Sarofim School of Fine Arts including, but not limited to recruitment, facility rental information, box office, and student musician hiring

Requirements include:  Bachelor’s degree; at least two years experience in an administrative support position;  proficiency in the Google Suite including sheets, forms, and Microsoft Word; demonstrated skills in writing, scheduling and organizing social media; demonstrated ability to write for differing audience demographics over multiple social media platforms; familiarity with platforms such as Canva, Hootsuite, Facebook, Instagram, Facebook Business Suites, TikTok, and Twitter; demonstrated skills with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and associated graphic software; ability to learn new technology; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent spelling and grammar usage; commitment to providing outstanding customer service; excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; flexibility regarding changing priorities; excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with a keen attention to detail; commitment to the University’s core values, including fostering diverse perspectives. Prior work experience in higher education is preferred. Preferred: BA or BFA degree in Music, Theatre, Studio Art or Art History, Marketing and or Communications; experience working in a college/university setting; excellent computer skills utilizing software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe.
