We look forward to gathering with you for our fall meetings of the Board of Visitors on Thursday, September 24, and Friday, September 25. While we will gather in a virtual environment instead of on campus, we have planned an agenda that allows us to get to know our new president and one another a little better while also contributing to the conversation about the University’s future and its response to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
On Thursday, September 24 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., we invite you to grab your favorite beverage and dessert and settle in for an hour with Laura Skandera Trombley and a student, Karlton Covington ’22. We will get to know Laura as she begins her presidency at Southwestern and then we’ll have the opportunity to hear from one of our outstanding students as he shares a reflection about his Southwestern experience. There will be plenty of time for Q&A with Laura and Karlton following his remarks.
We will gather on Friday, September 25 from 9:00 a.m. to noon for our general meeting. We will announce a change in leadership as Jay Marshall begins his service on Southwestern’s Board of Trustees and give Laura an opportunity to share her early impressions of Southwestern and our Strategic Vision and Direction. Most of this meeting will focus on the impact of the pandemic on the operations of Southwestern University. We will discuss how the University has responded and we look forward to learning how some of your businesses have responded.
Links to these two Zoom meetings will be sent separately from Susan Stubbs.
We remain grateful for your willingness to serve and to help advance the mission of Southwestern University. Let me know if you have any questions regarding our upcoming meetings.
