Each year, the Sumners Foundation seeks sophomores with at least a 3.25 GPA who demonstrate academic excellence, a sense of civic responsibility and the potential for leadership.

In addition to receiving financial support of up to $15,000 for their junior and senior years, Sumners Scholars can leverage outstanding academic and professional development opportunities, such as private access to speakers at the Hatton W. Sumners Distinguished Lecture Series; participation in a variety of public policy, leadership, and civic participation programs; and access to several educational and internship opportunities, including in Washington, DC.
