National Hispanic Heritage Month is the period from September 15 to October 15 in the United States, when people recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latinx Americans to the country’s history, heritage and culture.

Sofia Espinosa ’21, co-curated this display of books and DVDs with Librarian Theresa Zelasko. Topics include gender studies, literature, border studies, art, and more. Ms. Espinosa is also the leader of the student chapter of JOLT Texas on the Southwestern campus.

JOLT’s purpose is to “create a community that empowers Latinxs across Southwestern University and across Texas to become more civically engaged and advocate for issues that impact our community.”

This display is currently showcased in the Research Commons and will remain until November.

All items in the display are available for check-out.
