Southwestern University invites applications for the position of Registrar Specialist in the Center for Academic Success and Registrar. This is a full-time twelve-month position with benefits.

Primary responsibilities: open and close the office each day; process student schedule changes; communicate with faculty, students, and staff about general office functions (student information, policies, and procedures); schedule appointments for Academic Success and Registrar staff; process transcripts, verifications, and other forms related to the Office of the Registrar; prepare communications related to formal student activities, withdrawals, etc.; hire, train, and supervise student workers; perform preliminary advising to students visiting or calling the Center for Academic Success and Registrar; maintain student files and data records; enter and maintain course section and room scheduling each semester; maintain and update CASAR website;  coordinate purchasing for the office; and assist with management of departmental budget.

Minimum qualifications: high school diploma and office/clerical experience; professional communication and customer service skills; excellent organizational and computer skills; ability to work both independently and as a member of a team; ability to adjust to fluctuating priorities; strong conflict resolution skills; evidence of ability to self-initiate and anticipate the needs of constituents; and ability to coordinate and manage multiple calendars/activities. Preferred qualification: supervisory experience.
