Presented by the Debby Ellis Writing Center, The Center for Academic Success, and The Smith Library Center.

The Long Night Against Procrastination is a new event aimed at First Year Students on the Southwestern Campus. LNAP has been a successful event in many other academic libraries.

Our LNAP begins at 8 p.m. October 21st, and runs until midnight in the Library’s Research Commons.

Students will check in at a front table and receive their packet, containing a mix of information & study tips, a map of activity locations, a coupon for a free coffee or tea from the library coffee bar, and a raffle ticket. Snacks will be available throughout the evening.

After a brief introduction — during which staff will talk about the schedule and the availability of DEWC peer consultantsAcademic Peer Mentors, and Librarians — the students get to work researching, writing, and citing.

We have scheduled fun breaks and raffles throughout the evening, including activities like puzzles, coloring, and a bubble wrap popping room. After midnight, students are encouraged to remain at the library and continue working, while the library staff and consultants call it a night.

The Grand Prize for the raffle is Priority Registration for Spring 2019. One lucky winner will be able to register for classes at the same time as the Seniors! (You must be present to win.)

This event is free and open to all first year students. Snacks will be provided.
