This year’s Soundwave will also feature a student opener, Front Line, led by Mason Carmichael, Class of 2017. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. at the Corbin J. Robertson Center. Southwestern invites the public to attend.

AlunaGeorge is an English electronic music duo from London, consisting of vocalist and songwriter Aluna Francis and producer and instrumentalist George Reid. In mid-September of last year, AlunaGeorge released their highly anticipated album, “I Remember.” AlunaGeorge has toured internationally and nationally, including Sia’s North American Arena Tour. They are set to perform at Washington, D.C.’s Broccoli City Festival on May 6, 2017 and will also be hitting the road with Coldplay for another international tour this summer.

Southwestern’s Soundwave concert is planned by a student committee led by this year’s co-chairs, Derek Su and Emily Pereira.

“We’ve had alternative artists coming to Soundwave for so many years and the committee wanted to explore a different genre.” says Su. “AlunaGeorge was our first choice. We are very excited to have them headlining Soundwave this year as they have collaborated with so many big names like Disclosure, Diplo, and Flume. We can’t wait to see students enjoying their music at the concert and know this event will definitely be one to remember.”

Tickets for the general public can be purchased online through Friday, March 31st at with discounts available for advance, online ticket purchases.  All tickets purchased on the day of the concert will be $25 – cash only.
