El Monumento is a lovely dining spot with a patio that overlooks the San Gabriel River. You can’t go wrong with any dish on the menu, but my favorites are the queso and the spicy chicken tacos. Fun fact: the patio is dog friendly!
From the Christmas Stroll to the Red Poppy Festival, there are so many events on the square that occur throughout the year. It’s always wonderful to munch on some kettle corn with a friend while visiting local vendors and listening to live music.

There are too many to just pick one. A few of my favorites are Auntie Mame, Zootopia, and The Force Awakens.
I love exploring a new running trails around Georgetown and finding the best spots to watch the sunrise. When I’m not running, you can usually find me trying recipes I found on Pinterest or playing the piano in the Caldwell Carvey Foyer at SU.
College Search Advice
Keep your options open, and definitely visit as many schools as you can. Seeing a variety of campuses can really help you decided what kind of school is a good fit for you, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Additionally, talking with current students can help provide valuable insight into what life at a certain college or university is really like.
Future Travel Destination
I would go to Italy in a heartbeat. I enjoy cooking and baking and would jump on an opportunity to try some authentic Italian cuisine and maybe learn how to recreate some of these dishes back in Texas.
