The Southwestern University Sarofim School of Fine Arts’ Ceramics Department presents Visiting Artist Lydia Thompson on April 24th.

Join the Ceramics Department as we welcome Visiting Artist Lydia Thompson to present demonstrations in the ceramics studio as well as an Artist Lecture in the F.W. Olin Building. Lydia Thompson investigates geographic landscapes and how its natural resources impact social and cultural practices.

Lydia received a BFA from The Ohio State University and her MFA from the New York College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Lydia is currently a Professor and Director of the School of Art at Texas Tech University.

There are multiple opportunities to learn from Professor Thompson on April 24th. She will be presenting demonstrations in the ceramics studio from 12:30-2:30pm and 3:00-5:00pm as well as an Artist Lecture in the F.W. Olin Building at 7:30pm.

The presentations are free and open to the public.
