Eric has extensive experience in both film and television production and government.  From 2003-2010 he served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Governor Bill Richardson, during which time he designed and oversaw the development of New Mexico’s film/TV production incentive, training and business programs, growing the state’s production from less than $10 million at the beginning of the administration to more than $3 billion during the subsequent eight years.  These included programs to develop and promote local filmmakers including Native American, Hispanic, and Women’s programs.

Prior and subsequent to civil service Witt worked in film and television production in Los Angeles, New Mexico, and globally.  He was Executive VP of Finance for Dino De Laurentiis Communications, then one of the industry’s largest independent production companies, with offices in Los Angeles and Rome, and later co-founded and served as CEO of Asylum Entertainment, a multi-platform house focused on film/television/video game/graphic novel/music and merchandise development and production.

Witt currently directs the Santa Fe Film Office, a joint city/county entity servicing film, television, and digital media production throughout the greater Santa Fe and north-central New Mexico region.  He holds degrees from the University of Vermont, the University of Illinois, and UCLA.
