Treat Yourself: Make time for some self-care and research support.

The library will host a new event, Spa Day, on March 3 from 3-5pm on the 2nd floor of SLC. This is a come-and-go event.

What is Spa Day?

Check out our guide for the most current details

This event is more than “pampering” or treating one’s self (both of which are great); it’s a chance for students to learn about ways to organize their library research enhance their time management skills set goals with intentionality and ground themselves in a world of chaos.

Spa Day means to foster self-empowerment and support students in building a life that incorporates self-care as a foundation for success, not an afterthought.

Librarians will lead mini-workshops covering topics such as:

  • finding and using Creative Commons images
  • maximizing their use of Google Scholar
  • organizing their research with Google Drive, Ebsco Folder
  • tools for sharing information easily online.

Groups also presenting programming are Mosaic (intention-setting), The Center for Career & Professional Development, SU Peer Mentors, SU Health Educators, the SU Makerspace 3D print lab, and The Office of Advising & Retention (planner organizing station) to name a few.

There will be mindful & fun origami and art stations, planner preparation/decoration activities, and raffle prizes and swag. We also hope to offer chair yoga, goal-setting/intention-setting exercises, kinetic relaxation, and more!

We also plan to have an on-site massage therapist to provide mini chair massage to students who attend 3 or more program activities that day. (See guide for details.)

Living with intention and being fully in the present can help students achieve their goals while minimizing stress and fatigue.

Registration for this event is now closed.
