- Graphic: In front of a slightly-blurred red silk background, two silhouetted people kiss under a street lamp while one is sitting on a ledge. The title, American La Ronde, hovers to the left side with a graphic of a bracelet in lieu of the "o" in "Ronde."
Behind closed doors, a series of lovers encounter the most sincere and staggering moments of their lives. A single silver bracelet weaves its way through this chain of complicated affairs as it is lost, found, stolen and gifted from one passionate exchange to the next. In this daring and unapologetic American adaptation of Arthur Schnitzler’s Reigen, each rendezvous reveals the complex and sometimes costly truth of loving another person.
American La Ronde runs September 24–26 in the Jesse H. and Mary Gibbs Jones Theater. Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m.
Tickets are free for Southwestern students, faculty, and staff. Discounts are available for teachers, students, military, and seniors.
