Kay graduated from Southwestern in 1978 with a political science major. She also earned a MA in journalism from UT Austin. In 2018, Kay retired from a 27-year career as a diplomat (Foreign Service Officer) with the US Department of State. Working now as an independent consultant, Kay has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share about the Foreign Service, including hiring, from her time there.
