Have you ever heard or seen something that just didn’t seem right? What did you do? Do you wish you would have done something differently? Learn how to recognize harm and respond in a way that positively influences the outcome.

During this workshop, Mosaic Ambassadors will discuss how we all can play an active role in recognizing harmful situations in our personal, professional, and academic lives. You will learn about the bystander effect, as well as a wide spectrum of harm that impacts students and members of our community including high-risk drinking, violence, sexual misconduct, mental health concerns, hazing, harassment, and many behaviors that may be expressions of racism, ableism, transphobia, and other forms of systemic oppression. We will also engage in a dialogue about intervention resources that are available both on and off campus.

Using the Hollaback! “5 D’s of Bystander Intervention” (Direct, Distract, Delegate, Delay, Document), you will learn how to empower yourself to take action when you see or hear harm in our community.

RSVP is required for in-person programs; 10 seats are available per residence hall. You may only attend programs in the residence hall in which you reside.

RSVP links will also be posted on Campus Notices a few days before the event.
