The Sarofim School of Fine Arts is excited to announce TAK Ensemble in concert as part of the Sarofim Music Series.

TAK is an innovative ensemble that “impresses with the organicity of their sound, their dynamism and virtuosity– and, well, just a dash of IDGAF as they slay the thorniest material like it’s nothing” (WQXR, Q2 Music). The quintet is known for their masterful, energy-packed performances of contemporary classical music, as well as their commitment to direct collaboration and commissioning of new works with composers and fellow musicians. The ambitious quintet’s recordings have earned critical acclaim. Their debut album, Ecstatic Music: TAK plays Taylor Brook, was listed in the Top 10 Classical Albums of 2016 by The Boston Globe, and their second album, Sanctuary with Mario Diaz de Leon, was recommended by the New York Times and described by WIRE Magazine as “21st-century chamber music that combines crystalline clarity with the disorienting turbulence of a sonic vortex.”
