PROGRAM

Sarofim School of Fine Arts’ Music Department proudly welcomes pianist Sophia Gilmson to the Caldwell-Carvey Foyer. Originally from Russia, Ms. Gilmson is a cum laude graduate from the Leningrad (St. Petersburg) Conservatory, whose concerts in Russia, Italy, and the United States have been received with glowing critical acclaim. At Southwestern University, Ms. Gilmson will present a fascinating lecture-recital on the keyboard music of J.S. Bach and Dmitri Shostakovich, and how the two composers’ works are related.
