National Pan-hellenic Council
Created in 1930, the National Pan-Hellenic Council is a coalition of historically African American fraternities and sororities. Southwestern University currently recognizes one National Pan-Hellenic Council chapter, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The council’s leaders uphold the community’s standards, manage recruitment and work with other student organizations to host social and service events. It also serves as a liaison between members and the general campus community.
