WIRED CONNECTIONS are available for staff in their offices. Wired connections provide faster, more reliable performance for your desktops, laptops, and docking stations. Your wired internet should be configured by IT when you move into your new office or when you change offices.
SU-PIRATE offers wireless internet across all of campus including residential buildings, academic buildings, administrative buildings, and some outside areas. Simply use your Southwestern username/password to sign in.
Please note that PARROT-2G/5G is for students and doesn’t offer access to the same services.

SU-VISITOR offers free wireless internet to campus visitors. SU-VISITOR covers all of campus including residential buildings, academic buildings, administrative buildings, and some outside areas.
Please note, due to its being open to the public, SU-VISITOR only offers basic web browsing access. Services such as printing or access to university resources must be accessed through PARROT-2G/5G for students or SU-PIRATE for faculty and staff.

Southwestern University uses a unified communications platform called RingCentral. All faculty and staff receive a phone number for their office with their own personal extension. The Infodesk must be notified when employees move offices to ensure that employees can remain productive. Notably, we must move their phone line, wired internet access, and computers/monitors.
Courtesy phones and call boxes are similar in purpose. They can be used to call the police, ask someone to let you in, or make local calls.
